The Institute of Solid State Physics of the University of Latvia, in Riga, is Latvia's EUROfusion member. EUROfusion says its team studies radiation- and heat-resistant steels for fusion reactors and how radiation damages them. Other Latvian groups in the unit work on removing heat with liquid metal in porous structures and on how tritium behaves in beryllium, tungsten, lithium ceramics and carbon composites.
