The Jordan Atomic Energy Commission was established in 2008 as the successor to the Jordanian Nuclear Energy Commission, to transfer, develop and promote peaceful uses of nuclear energy. It is headquartered in Shafa Badran, Amman. It operates the Jordan Research and Training Reactor, which it describes as the foundation of nuclear technology in Jordan and a facility for training nuclear staff.
