The Malaysian Nuclear Agency (Agensi Nuklear Malaysia) is a government nuclear research agency under Malaysia's Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, based in Bangi, Selangor. It was established on 19 September 1972 and was earlier known as the Tun Ismail Atomic Research Centre (PUSPATI) and then the Nuclear Energy Unit. It operates the TRIGA PUSPATI Reactor, a 1 MW pool-type research reactor fuelled with uranium-zirconium hydride, which first went critical on 28 June 1982 and is Malaysia's only nuclear reactor. Its services include radiopharmaceuticals, non-destructive testing for industry and radioactive waste management.
