OPTOMAN is a Lithuanian manufacturer of high-power laser optics based in Vilnius, with a US office in Folsom, California. It makes mirrors, polarisers, filters and other optics with thin-film coatings deposited by ion-beam sputtering, a technique that can build up several hundred very thin layers, and it designs them to resist damage from intense laser light. It sells to laser manufacturers and to the space, defence, medical and research markets, and markets large-diameter, low-absorption optics to laser fusion developers, citing the demands of lasers like the National Ignition Facility's.
