Also known as DIFFER

The Dutch Institute for Fundamental Energy Research is a research institute in Eindhoven and part of NWO-I, the institutes organisation of the Dutch Research Council. It is the Netherlands' EUROfusion member and employs about 170 people. Its fusion work centres on Magnum-PSI, a linear plasma device that exposes wall materials to the heat and particle loads expected in fusion reactors, which DIFFER says is the only laboratory able to do so. It also runs an upgraded Pilot-PSI and an ion beam facility.
