Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy

Also known as INRNE, INRE

The Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy is part of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in Sofia and was founded in 1972. It holds the IRT-2000 research reactor, put into operation in 1961; Wikipedia lists the Sofia reactor as permanently shut down. It is Bulgaria's EUROfusion member and administers the Bulgarian fusion teams, working mainly on fusion materials, nuclear methods and diagnostics, and it takes part in building ITER diagnostics with Consorzio RFX in Padua.
