HIFAR was a 10 MW thermal heavy-water research reactor in Sydney, Australia, run by the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation. The IAEA Research Reactor Database lists it as permanently shut down, with first criticality on 26 January 1958 and shutdown on 30 January 2007.
