Circular sourcing
The situation where a claim appears to be confirmed by multiple sources, but every one of them traces back to the same original announcement, or even back to this site's own material being copied by an aggregator and then found again in a later search. Repetition is not corroboration: a company press release repeated by a dozen outlets in a day is still one source, the company. Checking for circular sourcing means finding the earliest version of a claim and asking who actually generated it, rather than counting how many places report it.
