Electrabel is a Belgian energy company and a subsidiary of the French group Engie (formerly GDF Suez). It took its present name in 1990 from a merger of Intercom, EBES and Unerg, with roots going back to 1905. It owns the Doel (2,736.9 MW) and Tihange (2,423.1 MW) nuclear power plants, within about 16,000 MW of generation in the Benelux, and its subsidiary Synatom manages fuel supply and spent fuel for Belgian reactors.
