The Institute for Plasma Science and Technology is an institute of Italy's National Research Council with sites in Milan, Padua and Bari. It researches controlled thermonuclear fusion as well as laboratory, space and astrophysical plasmas. Its fusion work includes heating systems for the Divertor Tokamak Test facility (DTT), and it reports completing acceptance tests of the first gyrotron for DTT's electron cyclotron heating system in February 2026.
