Duke Energy

Duke Energy is a US electric power and natural gas holding company headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, serving more than 7 million customers in the eastern United States. It operates nuclear, coal, hydroelectric, gas and pumped-storage plants, and Wikipedia says about half of its generation in the Carolinas comes from its nuclear power plants. It merged with Progress Energy in 2012. It selected a site in Cherokee County, South Carolina, for a new nuclear plant in 2006 but in 2018 dropped new nuclear from its long-range plans.
