Creating a full mine-to-magnet REE supply chain, the transaction brings together Energy Fuels’ upstream REE assets, including low-cost REE mining projects and existing separation capacity, with VAC’s world-class downstream REE magnet manufacturing expertise. The combined company aims to serve customers across North America, Europe and Asia in high-growth sectors, including automotive, aerospace and defense, robotics, data centers, electronics and industrial automation.
We are adding another building block in our rare earth supply chain vertical integrations plans with the proposed acquisition of Australian Strategic Materials Limited (ASM) , which brings direct metallization and alloying capabilities to the company. With this addition, Energy Fuels takes another step to create the largest fully-integrated rare earth “mine-to-metal &alloy” production outside of China, addressing crucial supply chain needs for industries such as automotive, robotics, energy, and defense.
Through our recent acquisition of Base Resources, Energy Fuels is now the owner and operator of the Vara Mada (formerly known as the Toliara Project) in Madagascar. We believe this to be the best critical mineral development project in the World with attractive economics and large quantities of rare earth, titanium and zirconium minerals.
Energy Fuels holds Heavy Mineral Sands assets in Madagascar, Brazil and a Joint Venture in Australia for production of zirconium and titanium, which could also provide up to 45,000 tpa of our rare earth feedstock monazite, a by-product of heavy mineral sand processing.
Energy Fuels successfully completed its first commercial run of ‘on-spec’ NdPr oxide in its Phase 1 rare earth element circuit with capacity to produce enough material to power 1 million EV’s per year. By 2027, the Company plans to expand that capacity to power up to 6 million EVs per year.
