The Leypunsky Institute of Physics and Power Engineering is a nuclear technology research institute in Obninsk, Russia, established in May 1946 and now a subsidiary of Rosatom. Its staff built the AM-1 reactor of the Obninsk nuclear power plant, commissioned on 27 June 1954, which Wikipedia calls the world's first nuclear power plant. The institute developed fast reactors from the BR-1 to BR-10 experimental series through to the BN-600 and BN-800.
