The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research is an international intergovernmental research organisation in Dubna, in the Moscow Region of Russia. It was established under a convention signed on 26 March 1956 by eleven founding states and registered with the United Nations on 1 February 1957. It lists 15 member states. Its facilities include the IBR-2 pulsed fast neutron reactor, used for research in neutron nuclear physics, the NICA collider and a cyclotron complex for synthesising new elements.
