We're building robust, zero-emission fusion reactors for marine deployment — unlocking a practical, scalable solution to decarbonize global maritime transport and remote energy installations.

Maritime Fusion began with the following realization: HTS magnets enable breakeven fusion, but not necessarily competitive grid fusion. Is there an alternative application besides the grid that is better suited for this first generation of fusion reactor technology? Ultimately, we view these off-grid markets as a stepping stone, to allow us to deploy a fleet of FOAK fusion reactors, while we learn, iterate, and discover new materials. This will then eventually enable cost competitive grid scale reactors on a timeline closer to 2040.

Our founders met at SpaceX, reunited at Tesla, having learned how to engineer from first principles and bring cutting edge technologies to market.

At grid-scale, first wall heat flux, nuclear activation, and exhaust remain unsolved. Our target markets need 10× less power, tolerate lower capacity factors, and cost no more than alternative fuels—without emissions.

Yes. The complete propulsion system (tokamak, shielding, cryogenic plant, RF systems, magnet power supplies, tritium handling, heat conversion and motor) fit inside a volume of ~6,000 to 7000 m³—far smaller than the large fuel tanks needed for Ammonia or Hydogren powered vessels. We actually enable more cargo carrying capacity, increasing the vessel utility while not needing to ever bunker fuel.

Our roadmap targets first deployment in 2032. Because of the reduced size and complexity compared to grid plants, we do not plan on first constructing an intermediate device, we're going straight for full scale.
