NextEra Energy is a US electricity company based in Florida whose subsidiaries include Florida Power & Light, one of the largest US utilities, and NextEra Energy Resources, which owns wind, solar, gas and nuclear plants. It traces its history to the formation of Florida Power & Light in 1925. The company says it operates one of the largest nuclear fleets in the United States. On 18 May 2026 it announced an agreement to acquire Dominion Energy in an all-stock deal valued at about $67 billion.
