The Nuclear Energy Agency is an intergovernmental agency organised under the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). It was formed on 1 February 1958 as the European Nuclear Energy Agency and took its current name on 20 April 1972. Wikipedia gives its membership as 33 countries from Europe, North America and the Asia-Pacific region. It runs a Data Bank and organises joint projects that let interested countries carry out research on particular issues on a cost-sharing basis.
