The Radiation Center is Oregon State University's nuclear research facility in Corvallis. It houses the Oregon State TRIGA Reactor (OSTR), a TRIGA Mark II built by General Atomics, licensed for 1.1 megawatts of continuous power and able to pulse far higher for very short periods; it began operating in 1967. The centre also has a gamma irradiator and several thermal-hydraulics laboratories. About 15 permanent staff run it, supporting the School of Nuclear Science and Engineering and other departments.
