Its subsidiaries include Georgia Power, Alabama Power, Mississippi Power, Southern Company Gas, Southern Power and Southern Nuclear. Through Southern Nuclear it is the majority owner and operator of the Farley, Hatch and Vogtle nuclear power plants. Vogtle Units 3 and 4 entered commercial operation in July 2023 and April 2024.
