Tibbar Plasma Technologies is a small research company in Los Alamos, New Mexico, many of whose staff are retirees or former employees of Los Alamos National Laboratory. Its main work has been a plasma-based electrical transformer, developed with a grant from the US Department of Energy's ARPA-E. It has also received National Science Foundation funding, and it is working on a fusion machine concept that it says could lead to smaller, more efficient devices through a new heat-engine approach. Its scientists also do computer modelling of ways to control instabilities in tokamaks. It has not announced a fusion device.
