Kyoto Fusioneering is a Japanese fusion engineering company founded on 1 October 2019, with its head office in Tokyo and a research centre in Kumiyama, Kyoto Prefecture. Rather than designing its own fusion machine, it develops plant technology, including systems that pump tritium and other hydrogen isotopes out of a reactor, purify them and recirculate them as fuel, building on research at Kyoto University and elsewhere. With Canadian Nuclear Laboratories it set up the joint venture Fusion Fuel Cycles Inc. to run UNITY-2, a fuel-cycle development project. It reported 167 staff in June 2026, and its shareholders include In-Q-Tel, INPEX and Kyocera's venture fund. It is a member of the Fusion Industry Association.
