The University of Tokyo is a Japanese public research university chartered in April 1877, with its main campus at Hongo in Bunky艒, Tokyo, and further campuses at Komaba and Kashiwa. The IAEA World Survey of Fusion Devices lists it as the operator of three fusion research devices: the TST-2 and UTST spherical tokamaks, and RT-1, a levitated-dipole experiment in which a floating superconducting ring holds the plasma.
