The University of Tsukuba is a Japanese national university in Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, chartered in October 1973 as the successor to the Tokyo University of Education. Its Plasma Research Center is a nationwide joint-use facility. The IAEA World Survey of Fusion Devices lists the university as the operator of GAMMA 10/PDX, a magnetic mirror device (a straight magnetic field squeezed at both ends so that particles are reflected back into the plasma), and records a second device, PILOT GAMMA PDX-SC, as under construction.
