HHMAX-Energy (ηζ΅·θθ½) is a Chinese company in Chengdu, founded on 30 December 2022, which describes itself as the first Chinese commercial company pursuing fusion with a linear field-reversed configuration (FRC). In its design two FRC plasma rings are accelerated from either end of a linear machine and collide in the centre, where magnets compress them to fusion temperature, and it proposes recovering electricity directly from the expanding plasma. Before power production it plans to sell products based on its fusion neutron source, for isotope production, boron neutron capture therapy, neutron imaging and waste transmutation. It says it aims for tens of megawatts of fusion output by 2030.
