China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN), formerly China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group, is a Chinese state-owned energy company supervised by the State Council's assets commission, with its core nuclear business established in 1994. Wikipedia describes it as China's largest nuclear power operator, with more than half the domestic market; it runs the Daya Bay, Ling Ao, Hongyanhe and Ningde plants, among others, and also has wind, solar, hydro and overseas uranium interests, including Swakop Uranium in Namibia. Its reactor line merged with that of CNNC in 2012 into the Hualong One, a Chinese pressurised water reactor design that both companies now build in their own versions.

- Ordinary (light) water kept under high pressure so it heats without boiling, transferring heat to a separate steam loop; the water is both coolant and moderator. Fuel is low-enriched uranium oxide pellets in zirconium-alloy rods. The most common reactor type in service worldwide.
