China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) is the Chinese state-owned group that oversees the country's civilian and military nuclear programmes, headquartered in Beijing. It grew out of the Ministry of Nuclear Industry, reorganised as CNNC in 1988, and covers uranium mining, enrichment, fuel fabrication, reactor design, construction and operation. With CGN it developed the Hualong One pressurised water reactor, which operates in China and at Karachi in Pakistan. It also designed the ACP100, or Linglong One, a small integral pressurised water reactor of about 125 MWe, the first of which has been under construction at Changjiang on Hainan since July 2021.

- Ordinary (light) water kept under high pressure so it heats without boiling, transferring heat to a separate steam loop; the water is both coolant and moderator. Fuel is low-enriched uranium oxide pellets in zirconium-alloy rods. The most common reactor type in service worldwide.
