Shanghai Superconductor Technology is a Chinese company that develops, makes and sells second-generation high-temperature superconducting tape, used in fusion magnets, superconducting power equipment and high-field magnets. It says its annual output and sales exceed 1,000 km of tape and that a plant expansion completed at the end of 2024 raised capacity to 2,000 km a year. It names Commonwealth Fusion Systems, Tokamak Energy, MIT, KIT and the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Plasma Physics among its partners, and says it supplied the tape for Energy Singularity's HH70 tokamak (delivered 2023) and for a 26.8 tesla all-REBCO magnet built by the Institute of Plasma Physics.
