Thea Energy is leveraging recent breakthroughs in stellarator physics and engineering to create a faster, simpler approach to commercializing fusion energy. We were founded in 2022 with technology developed at Princeton University.

To re-invent the world’s energy supply, we will continue to think big and creatively.

Thea Energy is creating a limitless source of zero emission energy for the future of humanity. We’re building the most economical and scalable fusion energy system utilizing arrays of mass manufacturable magnets and dynamic software controls.

Our approach eliminates the prohibitively complex 3D magnet coils required in prior generations of stellarator architectures. These modular coils were extremely difficult and expensive to manufacture, assemble, and maintain.

By transferring the complexity of 3D magnet coils to the software stack, we leverage the significant developments in computing and control systems. The result is a radically simplifying (and cost-reducing) new paradigm, with hardware systems that can be built in simpler, less expensive ways, while solving long-standing barriers to fusion energy.

Our first system is more than a science project. Eos is a neutron source stellarator that will achieve world leading fusion performance, near-term commercial operation, and de-risk Thea Energy’s first fusion power plant, Helios.

Thea Energy’s breakthroughs radically transformed the stellarator, tailoring systems to be simpler and more economical than previously thought possible, while leveraging this strong scientific foundation.
