Also known as PEJ, Polish Nuclear Power Plants
Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe (PEJ) is a special purpose company wholly owned by the Polish State Treasury, charged with developing 6 to 9 GW of large pressurised water reactors. Until March 2021 its work was part of the PGE group. In December 2021 it chose Lubiatowo-Kopalino, in Choczewo commune on the Pomeranian coast, as the site of Poland's first nuclear power plant, and in November 2022 the government selected the Westinghouse AP1000 design. A Westinghouse-Bechtel consortium signed an engineering development agreement in September 2023. Wikipedia notes that a construction permit is still required.
