RI Research Instruments is a German engineering and manufacturing company based in Bergisch Gladbach, founded in 2009, whose roots go back to the nuclear engineering company INTERATOM, part of Siemens, in the 1980s. It builds custom components and systems for particle accelerators, fusion, semiconductor manufacturing and medical isotope production. For ITER it supplies parts of the torus and cryostat cryopumping system, the cryogenic distribution system, inner vertical targets and accelerating grids for the neutral beam injectors, and it has also supplied JT-60, IFMIF and DIFFER. In 2019 it acquired the assets of Ampegon PPT, adding pulsed power systems.
