Also known as SPIC

State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) is one of China's five major state-owned power generation companies. It was formed in 2015 when China Power Investment Corporation merged with the State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC), which gave the group licences to design, build and run nuclear plants. SPIC says it led China's national programme on large advanced pressurised water reactors and developed Guohe One, a third-generation passive-safety reactor design that it says passed the IAEA's generic reactor safety review. It also designed HAPPY200, a 200 MW-thermal low-pressure reactor for district heating, according to the IAEA's 2024 catalogue.
