THEVA Dünnschichttechnik is a German maker of second-generation high-temperature superconducting tape, founded in 1996 and based in Ismaning near Munich. It sells the tape under the name THEVA Pro-Line and says it spent more than ten years on research and testing to develop its own patented production process. It has about 50 staff, sales partners in Asia and the US, and outside investors since 2012. Its website now says it is part of the SUBRA Group and has raised a further €10 million. Tape of this kind is used to wind the high-field magnets planned for compact fusion machines.
